HOW IT WORKS
What is KidSport?
We are a non-profit organization that provides funding for kids from families that need financial support to help cover the cost of sport registration fees so that all kids aged 18 and under can play a season of sport.
With 40 chapters across the province, funding for KidSport directly shapes sport in each of those communities. Each chapter - most of which are completely volunteer-run - raises funds, accepts applications and distributes grants in its own community. For communities that don't have a chapter, funding requests are supported through KidSport BC's Provincial Fund.
What is the KidSport MOVE430 Challenge?
The MOVE430 challenge is a virtual event that challenges you to commit to any “MOVEment” for at least 30 minutes for 30 consecutive days during the month of April and requires you to track it to complete the challenge! #MOVE430.
When does the challenge start?
The MOVE430 Challenge starts April 1st, 2023.
Who can participate in this Challenge?
This challenge is open to all ages!
What counts as an activity?
Any movement either indoors or outdoors that you can continue for 30 minutes. Run, bike, golf, swim or even stretch out in Pilates or dance “up a storm”!
Please be mindful of your own limitations and be sure to consult a health professional if you have any questions about your own health before or during your participation in this challenge.
There is no requirement for speed, distance or any additional metric beyond 30 minutes of activity.
What is the cost?
$30.00 per person, which includes Digital Challenge Badges, discount vouchers and a chance at winning prizes!
Where does the Challenge take place?
This is a virtual event, which means you chose where YOU want to complete your MOVEment. Please respect your local health organization’s recommendations on COVID-19 safety.
Where are my funds going?
100% of your registration fees go to the KidSport Chapter of your choice/community. The funds are used to provide grants to families in need with youth to help cover the cost of registration for sports programs.
When can I register?
Registration is February 15, 2023 - April 1st, 2023.
When do I have to complete each activity?
Activities need to be completed each day before midnight in order to be counted towards completion.
Where do I track my activity?
The link to the Activity Tracker will be sent out to participants March 31st.
How long do I have to track an activity?
Best practice is to track your activity daily for the full 30 days (April 1-30).
Participants will be given a 48-hour grace period to catch up on the previous day(s) activity tracking.
How do I finish the Challenge?
Complete 30 consecutive days of 30 minutes of activity and fill in the tracking form for each activity daily.
How can I share what I’m doing?
While we encourage you to share on all social media platforms, Instagram (@move430challenge) will be our main platform for sharing.
How are prizes awarded?
Prizes are awarded by random draw.
For daily prizing you must have completed your activity and filled out the Activity Tracker in order to qualify for that day’s prizing.
Weekly prizes will be awarded in the same fashion.
Social media prizes will be drawn by random generator from all participants who share using the hashtag #move430.
The Grand prize is awarded by random draw for all participants who complete the Challenge.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joys of a season of sport. Abundant research exists that proves sport participation enhances academic performance, improves physical and mental health and develops valuable life skills in the areas of teamwork, socialization, goal setting and time management.
